Top 10 Goals to set for a sucessful MLM Business

1. Bring up your MLM (business or juice) in casual conversation with new people. A good goal is at least 1 time a day, every day. But also pick a day where you'll try to do it 10 times that day with 10 different people - this is a great learning experience. Don't "sell". Just bring it up. Or have them watch the videos provided by your company.

2. Share a certain number of bottles – pick your own goal. 2 per day/week/ or month. Don't forget to follow up every 3 days. While giving away your product as "gifts" costs money, the more you give away, the faster your business will grow. If you can afford to, buy the largest bulk order you can because it brings your per-bottle cost way down. Read this post for more on how to accomplish this & goal #1.

3. Pick a specific date to Sponsored you're first two people - 1 Right and 1 Left in a Binary plan. Some do it in a day, but try to set it for no more than 1 month. If you follow #1 and #2 in this list, you'll get there pretty fast.

4. Set a goal to sponsor 5 as quickly as possible, and focus on those 5 before worrying about sponsoring more. Try to get to 5 in your first month. Some have sponsored 5 in their first few days. Some take a few months. Set your own specific time line goal for your first 5 enrollees.

5. Only “work” with, or "teach" those interested in building a business to sponsor their own first 2 people. Set a goal to get their first 2 people signed up within 1 week to 2 months of their enrollment. In a Binary plan - 2 people - one Left and one Right gets them started. Be sure to get agreement with your enrollee on this goal's date since you're in this together and you both benefit.

6. Set learning goals – like reading 1 hour per night, or memorizing one of these Top 10 lists per week.

7. Plan to attend a certain number of meetings in your first 6 months – even if they’re repetitive. 1 per week is ideal at first. At least 1 per month towards the end of the 6 months.

8. As soon as you have a downline, plan get-togethers, "sizzle sessions" or trainings once per week. Print out one of these Top 10 lists and bring it to your session to discuss it. You'll have 10 excuses for 10 weekly meetings in a row.

9. “20/20 vision” is personally sponsoring 20 on your Left and 20 on your right. This is a great 6 to 12 month goal, and some say virtually guarantees your (huge) success.

10. Plan to attend the National convention, as well as any large regional meetings with top executives or leaders.

The above Goals should have a profound effect on the growth of your business. But don't get ahead of yourself. Just worry about the first few goals, and remember, this is not a race. Some acheive their goals in as little as 6 months, others take a few years. Regardless, it's a much shorter time to financial freedom than virtually any other option... especially since most will never achieve this lofty goal. Start with Goals 1, 2 & 3 and you'll be well on your way.

Top 10 "Basic" Steps to Start Your Business

To earn commissions in a Binary plan, you must be "Active" & "Qualified". "Active" means after you enroll as a Distributor, you order the Product on "auto-shipment" so you receive it regularly. "Qualified" means you Sponsored 2 people (this is for Binary plans), one on each "leg", who are also "Active". This Top 10 explains the details:

1. Sign up as a distributor and pay the enrollment fee (the earlier the better to beat others onto the tree)
2. Log into the back office they provide with your Distributor ID# and set up Auto-Shipment for your product.
3. Order a huge Bulk order. This is critical... you need product to share with others.
4. Drink the maximum recommended amount of your juice per day, every day, don’t skip if you expect to feel results
5. Learn the Top 10 Intro & Closing lines – start thinking about which you’ll use with your 5 closest friends/family/colleagues (keep the other “Top 10’s” handy but try not to use them yet)
6. Call, meet or during casual conversation with your top 5 use the “lines” - DON'T over-explain what you know – 2 minutes or less is best
7. Get a knowledgeable sponsor to answer questions from those still interested

Top 10 Training Tips for your downline & new distributors

To succeed in Network Marketing, you need to help your downline succeed. Few are naturals... so most need training. The purpose of MLMTop10.com is to provide information... but hand holding training is critical... especially for brand new distributors... so here are the Top 10 "Training Tips" for your overall downline, and for your newest distributors.

1. Meet with all new personally sponsored distributors IMMEDIATELY - the very next day if possible.

IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE:
If you are sponsoring outside of your area and can't meet in person, I highly recommend signing up to one of the online conference sites. I've tried GoToMeeting (WebEx was too expensive) but I've now settled on www.HotConference.com as the most affordbale and flexible... they've got a $1 trial for one month. The beauty of this system is that they have built in voice. With the other systems you also need to use the phone. For those who don't have microphones on their PC's, I bought a Logitech set for $15 at Amazon.com - Logitech Premium Stereo Headset with Noise-Canceling Microphone for the direct link. They are a tad uncofortable until you break them in... but you can't beat the price for the quality of the sound.

The other option is FreeConferenceCall.com - you pay for toll charges, but nothing else.

2. Have your new recruits set goals. See the Top 10 Goals post for perfect ones. People who set goals are more likely to succeed... but even better... if they set their goals with you... they are more likely to commit to achieving them.

3. Meeting immediately should be re-stated... most people sign up at the peak of their interest and excitement. The longer you wait for your first training meeting, the less excitement they feel and the less likely their act.

4. Meetin FREQUENTLY early on. You may want to contact them every day for the first week or two... and try to have once per week meetings (at the least) until they are up and running.

5. A favorite line in Network Marketing is "call your downline when you're up, and call your upline when you're down". In other words, if you are not feeling 100% positive and upbeat, save your training calls and meetings for another time... or... if you really want to be successful... find a way to snap yourself out of your funk... as the phrase goes... call your upline... get someone to pump you up and remind you why you're in this business... and once you feel good... then call your downline.

6. Know your "Why" and get your downline to verbalize their "Why". A "why" is their reason for joining your MLM... it's their purpose. Everyone wants more health and money... but WHY??? I want my health so I can....??? Play with my kids, get over a current illness, travel more, start a sport or play my current one better... WHY???

I want more money... not for the sake of money - right? I want more money... because my bills are crushing me, to travel more, to pay for my kid's college education... WHY???? Know your why, and help your downline verbalize their why.

7. Use their "Why" to motivate them when they are down. If they take the advice of calling their upline - you - when they are down, and you know their "Why", you can use that to re-motivate them. "You know Mary, you had said that being able to send your kids to private school was a huge motivator for you. Can you tell me more about that?" And from there the conversation will almost naturally get Mary re-motivated since she's reminded of WHAT she is working for and WHY.

8. Use HotConference.com or other high-tech, high-touch services to have more frequent meetings. You don't always have to get together at someone's house. 3-Way conference calls are also good ones.

9. Use the Top 10 lists from this site... print one list out, bring it to your next training meeting, or "sizzle session" and read each point and then ask for feedback, testimonials, and in general get a conversation going. It's always interesting to hear how others have applied ideas, or modified them, and what kind of results or feedback they received.

Top 10 Mistakes & How to Avoid Them

1. Over excitement, over hype, and any hard to be believe “best ever” statements

  • Don’t push or press or rush. It may be great but people need to find out for themselves.
2. Saying too much (especially when you’re new and don’t know the answers to questions & objections)
  • Send them to the internet, and later let a knowledgeable upline sponsor answer questions
3. Trying to learn everything before telling people what you’re doing
  • Just “introduce” people to what the business or the drink can do for them
4. Reinventing the wheel – many smart people came before you and we’ve made every mistake in the book. So if we give advice that doesn’t make sense – trust it.
5. Assuming that your upline will take care of one of your two legs. You have two legs, and ultimately you are responsible for both. You can help yourself by helping your downline
6. Trying to do the business on your own. If you don’t have a partner, then team up with at least one upline person, and several downline people. This business requires cooperation, and rewards it teamwork generously.
7. Pre-judging people on their interest, or lack of, in either the business, or the juice. Many, many people will surprise you both positively, and not so positively
8. Not following up. If you give out bottles, or someone shows initial interest, set a reminder to follow up within 3 days. Keep following up every 3 days until they sign up, or their interest ends. Then follow up in 3 weeks to 3 months. Many people often get re-interested.
9. Quitting too early. Have the mind set that your first 6 months are your education phase. Any money you make is gravy. Only count “working” months in this 6 month period.
10. Fear of selling, of objections or of what others will say about MLM’s or your new venture.
  • If you’re sharing the opportunity or the product correctly, it is not selling. Share why you joined or why you’re drinking it. Keep it simple, send them to an information source, or invite to a meeting. This is all a normal part of relationships… like anything else you’re doing in your life that you share with others. If they show interest, let them sell themselves at one of several online informational sources.

2. Why MLM?

  • Fastest Commercial Acceptance: the first Acai company was Sambazon sold through traditional channels and is only a $12 million company. All of the decent Acai-based MLM's have far surpassed that number
  • Cheapest Distribution method: Sambazon spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on advertising and distribution. MLM's spend none.
  • MLM lets regular people create wealth for ourselves and others
3. I saw another Acai product

  • Sambazon, Zola (1-fruit drinks are not as healthy as multi-fruit drinks, and watch out for caffeine and sugar even when they are "natural"). Drink these two only for a healthier alternative to Red Bull)
  • I saw one in Costco (again, sugar & caffeine usually included)
  • Odwalla is roughly $4 for unknown quality and lacking most of the other “super fruits”
  • AcaiPlus (are competitors spiking their blends with synthetic supplements and don't have high-grade Acai? Don't just trust their numbers, their charts or the marketing speak - everyone is jumping on the bandwagon, and the latecomers are usually the cheap knock offs)
  • Any Acai only product - remember, a wide-spectrum of colored fruits is best for overall health, so unless you're eating at least 5 high-quality fruit servings a day, drinking multi-fruit juice is a great alternative.
4. How do I place an order & how does auto-shipment work?

  • Visit your company's main site - and find teh Distributor log-in area. You'll need your ID# and your password. If you don't know it, ask your sponsor. The sites are self-explanatory once there
5. How do I enroll my first people?
  • First, choose the Left or Right leg (and look for “Preferences” on your back office site to pre-select "left, "right" or lesser leg)

  • "placing" bottles - ie, giving a free one to prospects - is one of the most expensive technigues, but it's also one of the fastest and most effective... give it as a gift, but open it up for them, explain how much and how often to drink it, then follow up 2 to 4 times that same week... this gives them a "juice experience" - and the juice is the best salesperson of them all :)
7. Can pregnant women or children take Glucosamine?

  • First, anyone can drink an MLM fruit juice if they can drink orange juice of it they can eat fruit.
  • However, when the juice contains an additive like Glucosamine, pregnant or nursing women and children should avoid it and stick with the fruit-only blends.
8. What will I feel & when will I feel it?

  • If you don’t eat fruit on a regular basis, you are more likely to feel healthier in numerous areas in a shorter period of time. However, a 3 month trial is recommended for all. Some have reported results within days, others notice gradual changes over time.

Top 10 Answers to "it's too expensive"

There are only a handful of "real" objections to MLM's... and cost of the product is one... so here are my Top 10 answers (please add your own in the Comments section below)

1. The #1 cause of Bankruptcy is "illness and medical bills" according to a Harvard study... representing 50% of all U.S. bankruptcies. Read it here. Drinking good nutrition is good for you... if you're concerned about money... then you need to exercise more and eat better... nutrient-dense fruit juices are a convenient way of improving your diet.

2. Adding to #1... since staying healthy is a HUGE money saver... you should also save if you have an expensive habit like... 4Bucks (I mean Starbucks) coffee, cigarettes, or drinking. Cut out any one of these expensive habits and the savings pays for your fruit juice... and you'll save even more in the long run.

3. unless a person is broke, the "too expensive" objection really means it's "not worth it" or "there isn't enough value to justify it". So, since it's best to answer an objection with several questions aimed at finding out more about their objection... the perfect question to "it's too expensive" is "compared to what?"

4. compared to other juices... anything you buy in the store is full of sugar and water. that is the ONLY way they can sell it that cheaply. The better quality juices like Odwalla are pretty expensive... and you don't really have any idea of their quality... and they are still largely sugar.

5. compared to other acai products... ok, what can you tell me about the quality of the other acai products? I believe it's Zola that shows an ORAC score about 170 for their Acai... that's actually well below what the fruit contains immediately after picking. Soo they ought to charge 15% of what a quality Acai-based juice should charge

6. compared to individual ingredients... few people will buy all of the ingredients, and when they buy one or two, few will tell you that anything they've tried "works" so it does not justify their cheaper cost. If you've tried a competitive product, you owe it to yourself to try mine

7. try answering.... "what if I could show you how to get it for free?" One VERY successful distributor told me that he even does this with people who claim they have no money... he asks "do you have any room left over on your credit cards?" Most answer yes. Then he says "if you do this, and you make a commitment to work the business hand in hand with me... coming to meetings with me, sharing bottles and following up... I'll guarantee you'll earn what you spend by the time your credit card bill comes due." Now this is a VERY bold promise... so ONLY make it if you're willing to make that commitment, and you're confident in your ability to teach and lead... and only accept their agreement if you're confident they mean it... that they will commit to working hard.

8. try buying 5+ fruit servings day, every day. after one month - tell me which is "too expensive". I bet it's the fruit... for one because fruit is expensive... and secondly it's inconvenient to shop for it, to peel it, to store it, to eat it, to throw it away. That's why only 5% of the U.S. population eats 5+ servings a day.

9. oh, you have an objection.... NEXT!!!!!

10. what other product can you improve your health with, help others improve their health with, have a chance at building a lucrative business, and help others build a lucrative business? If I eat 5+ servings of the nutrient-depleted fruit found in today's grocery stores... no one will ever thank me. If I drink my nutrient-dense fruit juice sold via MLM and share it with others... the "thank you's" alone more than make up any monetary cost!

If I could only give 2 pieces of advice - #1 would be "less is more" when inviting people to look into your business or to your juice, and #2 is as soon as someone enrolls, meet with them (or get on the phone) and offer to help them sponsor their first 2 people... the sooner the better

Top 10 Advanced "Leg" Building & Back Office Techniques

Learn your companies pay plan inside and out. But these are 10 tricks to maximizing Binary Pay Plans - 2 "legs". Much of this is "just trust me". These were learned via a lot of trial and error:

1. Place your first Enrollee on your "Shared" leg. Ask your Sponsor which leg that is. It is the leg that they and anyone else in your Upline might place anyone else that they sponsor. This leg often grows without your help in the initial stages of your business.

2. Place your next 5 enrollees on your "Personal" leg. If the "Shared" leg happens to be the Left leg, than your "Personal" leg would be your Right leg.

3. Place the following 2 personal Enrollees on the "Shared" leg. Do this even if your Upline has placed tens, or hundreds of others on this leg. This insures you against not being "Qualified" if your original person misses an Auto-Shipment or stops ordering all together.

4. Ignore the above advice for family members. Place all of them on the same leg, preferably the "Shared" leg. Do NOT split up family members or else they'll be fighting over who gets to sponsor other family members or close family friends

5. Ignore the above advice for close personal friends to you and each other. Place all very close friends on the same leg, preferably your "Personal" leg since you're over-loading the "Shared" leg with your family.

6. After placing your 2nd and 3rd people on to your "Shared" leg (and assuming you've placed 5 on your "Personal" leg), evaluate your weekly "volume" to determine which leg needs the most attention. Ignore the accumulated volume of the largest leg. Only consider the past 4 to 8 weeks of "Personal Volume"

7. ONLY ever place people you personally sponsor on your FAR OUTSIDE & BOTTOM Left or Right. If you choose to ignore this advice your only other choices are the far/outside/bottom of someone elses leg - which is one of your many "inside legs" - an "inside leg" is simply "someone elses outside leg". This can be confusing if you choose to make it so - so this is one of those "just trust us" pieces of advice. Everyone comes up with this same idea - thinking they are "helping" someone else. But if you have to help someone, it means they aren't working. The gurus in the industry refer to this as "free lunch" and say emphatically "no free lunch". You have two legs to worry about - and they do too. If you want to help - then help by teaching them how to Sponsor their own people.

Some refer to being put on an "inside" leg - that's a misnomer. They're probably refering to being put on the personal leg of their sponsor - and that IS one of their sponsor's far/outside/bottom legs. It just wasn't the leg they "share" with their upline person. However, it IS the leg THEY "share" with you. This all generally only makes sense once you've enrolled several people who start doing their own enrolling. You'll soon learn that EVERYONE has TWO legs to worry about. Your upline has their own far/outside/bottom two legs to worry about, your sponsor has their own, now you do too, and every person you place has two of their own legs to worry about. Read below the 10th tip if you think your placement was "unlucky".

8. Set up your Leg "Preferences" to default to either the "Lesser" leg, or to which ever leg you want a particular person on - Right or Left.

9. Visit your company's corporate web site and look for the "Enroll" link. Enter your ID# and hit "submit". Copy & Paste the web address of the page that comes up. You can email this link to anyone who is interested in enrolling as either a "wholesale" customer or as a Distributor. If you've pre-set the "Preferences" described in #8 they will automatically be placed in the leg you pre-selected.

Have all of your personal enrollees choose a password you can remember, like their own last name, or a common word that you all use. This way when you place a large personal order, you can enter into the "business" of the very last person on the "tree" and place the order. This will "give" everyone on that leg the same points. Every business builder between you and the "business center" you placed the order in, including yourself, will get all of those points.


Make your own luck
One last thought... you and only you are responsible for building both of your legs. A few people get "lucky" and have someone placed in their businesses by someone else who ends up blowing out the business and entirely building one of their legs for them. Others getting even luckier, and not only have that happen, they also end up placing just one person in their downline of their other leg who entirely blows out the other leg. So this last tip is that MOST of us have to create our own luck. We need to keep recruiting, and teaching recruiting, until we enroll a few people who work as hard as we do. Once we find them... this business just takes care of itself.

I write this because we were "unlucky"... a few supreme business builders were enrolled just before us. We got no "run off" from their hard work. So... once we realized we weren't going to get a "free lunch" we realized that most people are in this situation. So we decided to create our own luck. Our goal was to keep enrolling until we found our own "supreme business builders". Instead of complaining about what could have been.... we spent that time positively "inviting" as many people as possible to look into the opportunity or the juice. Of all the tips on all of these pages, the one you need the most is to "invite, invite, invite". The more people you "invite", the luckier you'll be. Good "luck".

Top 10 Ways to Get Paid: The Compensation Plan

There are many ways to get paid in the most MLM compensation plans. And I also believe there are at least 2 non-published ways of getting "paid"... skip down to #'s 9 & 10 for the fun ones.

  1. Sell your bottles. You can buy your juice in Bulk for the cheapest possible price and then sell it for a top retail cost. Selling isn't for everyone, and this requires stocking the product. But if you think you can't afford to enter into an MLM business, this is the way to go. You can be profitable immediately.
  2. "First Order Bonus" - when you sponsor someone you usually get a bonus on their first order.

  3. "Bulk Order Bonus" - this too is only on those you personally sponsor, but it you get a bonus every time they place a Bulk Order no matter when or how often they do it.

  4. "Maker Bonuses" - when someone you sponsor succeeds in sponsoring 1 person on their Right and 1 person on their Left, they have achieved a rank that earns you a bonus.

  5. "Team Commissions" - to earn commissions you must be "Active" & "Qualified". "Active" means you are on Auto-Shipment. "Qualified" means you have personally sponsored 1 person on each of your two legs. All of their product orders, and that of anyone else below you and them roll up to your business.

  6. "Check Match" - this is usually at higher levels - you get paid a percentage of what your downline gets paid.

  7. "Leadership Pools"- the company sets aside a percentage of all commissions for the very top earners to share in.

  8. "Multiple Business Centers" - I don't like the companies that let you buy more than one business center early on. After all, how do you know if you'll even succeed in the firt one? The best MLM's make 2nd, 3rd and 4th business centers available only to those who succeed with their first one. Once you max out your first business center, they give you another one... you don't have to buy it. And you can go and build a 2nd business while the first one continues to pay you

  9. Tax Write offs - If you're building your business with the "intent of making a profit" you can write off a ton of expenses. Speak to your Tax Advisor about this, but if he/she confirms this, and you currently work as a salaried employee elsewhere, you can increase your "Exemptions" on your W-4 form which results in fewer taxes being taken out of your pay check. This is like giving yourself a raise. If you're spending $250 per month on your MLM's products to drink and sell or share, you are more than likely to have enough write-offs to be able to raise your exemptions to return at least $250 - so your product is essentially free from day #1. Again, speak to your tax advisor about this as this is NOT intended to be tax advice.

  10. Get paid in "Thank You's". People who have health problems that respond to drinking your nutrient-dense fruit juice will thank you profusely. We've had so many people tell us that they stopped taking some medication that only partially worked and had side effects, and that high-antioxidant fruit juices work better and are 100% healthy without side effects. You'll also get thanked by the "Business Builders" once they see their businesses growing and the money rolling in. Billionaires and former Presidents drinking MLM juices

Next time someone says "MLM's are pyramid scams" you can tell them that some of the richest, smartest people in the world are drinking products sold by MLM's... of course you're hopefully talking about yourself :) But you'd also be referring to Bill Clinton, and the 86th richest person on the planet, Sumner Redstone, former CEO of Viacom who is worth $8 Billion.

This CNNMoney.com article centers around Sumner Redstone and how he's turned "just about every friend" onto an Acai based fruit juice, and that list includes Wolfgang Puck, Michael Milken and Bill Clinton. What a list... so I'm drinking it, you're drinking it, they are drinking it... and soon everyone over 50 (or 40 in my case) will be drinking it when it has fans like Sumner Redstone calling it a "miracle drug".

By the way... NEVER, EVERY call any "food" a "drug". That is an illegal statement, it's also a false statement. Also NEVER claim your fruit-juice MLM product will help with any disease. The article says this product's CEO, "touts the juice as a way to 'increase energy in a natural way' and to alleviate 'the everyday aches and pains from inflammation'."
